WAEYC is dedicated to providing quality professional development opportunities that are affordable.

WAEYC works to provide professional development opportunities for those working with and on behalf of children ages birth to 8 in Washington State.

Workshops and seminars are offered on a variety of topics throughout the year at different locations.  STARS credit and clock hours are available at most WAEYC trainings, and college credit is available at the WAEYC Annual Conference.  As a member benefit, WAEYC members may attend trainings and conferences at a reduced rate.

              Inclusion Program

For over 20 years, WAEYC has administered this project through a grant from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).  The project supports inclusion of preschoolers with special needs into programs with children who are developing typically. Our current work involves:

  • Supporting school districts and community based early learning programs partnering to provide inclusive education

  • Collecting and sharing data about use of curricula and child assessment tools in preschool programs

  • Providing online training focusing on inclusive education

  • Providing inclusion training at the WAEYC annual conference
