STARS Registry

Effective April 1, 2010, WAEYC no longer administers the STARS Registry. Department of Early Learning (DEL) designed a new online system to keep track of ongoing education and training called Managed Education and Registry Information Tool or MERIT. To request information about your STARS training, contact DEL at merit@del.wa.gov or (866) 482−4325 x8.

Registro de STARS

El 1 de abril del 2010, WAEYC ya no administra al registro de STARS.  Department of Early Learning (DEL) diseñó un nuevo registro que guarda sus entrenamientos se llama Managed Education and Registry Information Tool o MERIT. STARS Reimbursements

WAEYC continues to administer STARS Reimbursements for the Department of Early Learning (DEL). If you are required to take STARS training and need financial assistance, submit a STARS Reimbursement Application with a copy of your certificate of completion and a copy of your receipt to WAEYC.  Reimbursements are available on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funding is available.

Los Reembolsos de STARS

WAEYC sigue administer los reembolsos de STARS en nombre del Department of Early Learning (DEL). Si tiene que tomar las clases de STARS y necesita ayuda financiera, complete una formulario de reembolso de STARS con una copia de certificado de compleción y una copia de recibo. Los reembolsos son entregados de acuerdo a la fecha en que las aplicaciones son recibidas, siempre y cuando haya fondos disponibles.

Conference Support

The Conference Support and Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Department of Early Learning, supports the professional development of child care providers by supporting the conferences they attend. STARS approved training organizations providing conferences may apply for support and scholarship funds. Funds are promised on a first-come, first-served basis until the available funds are distributed on a reimbursement basis. Please review the 2011-2012 Conference Support and Scholarship Guidelines and Application for more details.

Trainers

The Department of Early Learning is implementing a new trainer approval process. The purpose of the approval process is to promote quality training opportunities around the state and establish a consistent process for reviewing all trainers. All new trainers will be required to go through the new trainer approval process beginning January 1, 2012. Currently approved trainers will be required to apply through the new process by September 1, 2012. Training Organization

Under the new trainer approval process, training organizations will no longer be approved. Training organizations will be able to provide administrative support to trainers affiliated with their organization. Organizations sponsoring conferences or out−of−state speakers will be able to apply in MERIT to offer STARS hours for that conference or special event.
